{geni:occupation} Dry fruit seller, factory worker (Ldaies hats)
{geni:about_me} Simon Tauber was born in Trencin City on 22 January 1844, and died in Bronx, New York, 27 September 1930. He was named in honor of his mother's deceased brother, Simon Kohn-Zerkowitz (c1822-c1831).

Simon Tauber moved to Drietoma, Trencin megye, Hungary shortly after his marriage in 1873. He sold dried fruits in Drietoma, while his wife ran a "kretschmar" (a tavern or inn). On 26 November 1897, he, his wife, and their fiveyoungest children all arrived in Ellis Island, New York, on the ship "Spree". (His three oldest daughters had emigrated earlier.)

Simon Tauber and his family lived for several years in Manhattan, then later moved to the Bronx. He died in Bronx, New York on 27 September 1930, age 86 years, of chronic myocarditis. His death certificate indicates that he wasa resident of 1074 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, that he was born in Hungary on 22 January 1844, and that his parents were "Leo Paul Tauber" and "Nettie Zerkowitz", both born in Hungary.
