Notes for Rudolphina (Rudy) (Ruth) (Rachel) Tauber
{geni:occupation} Milliner
{geni:about_me} Rudolphina Tauber had the Hebrew name of "Rachel". She was named in honor of two great-grandmothers -- Rachel (Rosalia) Zerkowitz (first wife of Nesanel Kohn-Zerkowitz, 1783-1847) and Rachel Teschner (Wilhelm) (1798-1876). She and her oldest sister, Anna, were brought to the U.S. in 1891 by their mother and left in the care of a cousin, Augusta Paskus (Teschner), and her sister, Euphemia Pincus (Teschner). When the parents and the younger children arrived on Thanksgiving Day 1897, the family was finally reunited.
In the 1910 census of Meridian, Mississippi, Rudolphina is referred to as "Ruth".
