{geni:about_me} Gideon Glasel was born in Varin, Trencin Co., Hungary in 1831, and died in Trencin, 12 February 1915, in his 84th year of age. After the death of his first wife, Gideon Glasel, his second wife, and his two daughters all moved from Varin to Trencin City.

Gideon spent the remainder of his life in Trencin. He was a kosher Innkeeper and organised a small Jewish community, dedicating most of his income to maintain the local synagogue. He died in Feb. 1915 as chairman of the Jewish Community and was buried in Trencin in a coffin filled with earth from Palestine, which was sent by the Zionist Headquarters in Vienna.
