Notes for Joachim (Chaim), Rabbi Knöpfelmacher
{geni:about_me} Joachim Knöpfelmacher was the eldest son of Jacob Knöpfelmacher (1739-1798). He is listed in legal documents when his father's estate was divided in 1799. As a young man, Joachim settled in the town of Kelc [Keltsch], close to Mahr. Weisskirchen [now Hranice], where he was a Rabbi for the remainder of his life.

Joachim Knöpfelmacher was the possessor of Familianten #103 in Mahr. Weisskirchen as early as 1788. He was married three times, and fathered a total of 17 children. He died in Kelc on 3 January 1847, age 82, and was buried the following day in the Jewish cemetery in Mahr. Weisskirchen [Hranice].

Translated portion of the "Knoepflmacher Stammbaum", written circa 1905 by Moritz Knoepflmacher (1828-1910) of Vienna:

"The family of Joachim KNÖPFLMACHER of Kaltsch is lacking data for me, and but what is known to me is that, protruding from several marriages, he had numerous progeny. They included his eldest son, Mordecai in Zaroschitz, and thenJüdl (the brother-in-law and guardian of JM Pollach); a daughter who was the wife of Jacob DEUTSCH, domiciled in Mistek; son Emanuel (inserted: Karl) in Friedek; son Wilhelm s.Z. in Hullein; son Moritz in Boskowitz; the wife of Bernhard KURZ in Kojetein; and the wife of Abraham WOLF in Weisskirchen."
