Notes for Lois Christine Hearn
{geni:about_me} Lois was born in 1907 in Laurel, MS, the youngest of 10 children. She completed the 6th grade and then worked, probably in the cotton mill spinning and weaving like her siblings, and/or in the grocery store whereher father worked. She was listed as living at home in the 1930 census (mistakenly as Louis Hearn). In the 1930s she followed her sister Ada to Indiana.

Lois lived in Tipton, IN, most of her life, and she met her husband William there. He was sent to Guam in WWII, and their daughter Linda was born after the war in 1947. The Tobin family moved to Connecticut around 1959, and lived in Milford for several years. After Linda graduated from high school, Lois and Bill moved to Illinois for a few years. They moved to Bay City, Michigan by 1967, where Linda met and married James Miller. Bill and Lois moved back to Tipton in the early 1970s.

When Bill died in 1979, Lois moved back to Bay City, MI, and lived with the Miller family. She helped with her grandchildren, Melissa and Melanie, and fed their cat Tigger potato peelings. She was a resident of the Rachel SovernHome at the end of her life. She was buried in Tipton, IN, in 1987.
