{geni:about_me} Selma Anderson Tanenbaum, 90, of Alpharetta, GA, and a longtime resident of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Emory University Hospital. Born November 29, 1924, in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter ofthe late Louis and Rebecca Levy Anderson and widow of Ralph Tanenbaum.

Mrs. Tanenbaum was co-owner of Tanny’s, a men’s clothing store, in the early 1980’s. She was a member of Temple B’Nai Israel, the Sisterhood and lifetime member of Hadasaah.

Survivors include her sons, Dr. Marc Tanenbaum (Shelly) of Sandy Springs, GA, and Jak Tanenbaum (Lynden) of Portland, OR; daughter, Lee Tanenbaum of Marietta, GA; 8 grandchildren, Jay Wiegmann of Atlanta, GA, Alisa Tanenbaum Stoughton (Seth) of Columbia, SC, Jessica Tanenbaum Davis (Philip) of New York City, NY, Sara Cavorley (Sean) of Marietta, GA, Oren Magid (Sarah) of Washington, DC, Daniel Magid (Laura) of Durham, NC, Kasey Jakien and Roman Jakien bothof Portland, OR and 14 great-grandchildren, Aidan Stoughton, Lorelei Stoughton, Liam Davis, Olivia Davis, Eliana Erickson, Makana Erickson, Jayden Erickson, Leland Erickson, Seamus Cavorley, Saoirse Cavorley, Sydney Magid, Benjamin Magid, Charlotte Magid, and Roland Thomas. She was predeceased by granddaughter, Jamie Tanenbaum Wiegmann; brother, Sidney Anderson and sister, Ruth Abramson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Rabbi Yossi Liebowitz. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple B’Nai Israel, 146 Heywood Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
