Notes for Wolf Oberman
{geni:about_me} Wolf, Zev, Oberman lived in a small Polish town called Zeloshova (or
Zelechov). He was very poor, as were most Jews at that time. Wolf was a
"small businessman" and made a living, albeit a poor one. He owned a
little stand where he sold needles, pins, thread, and other notions. He,
and His wife Chava, had five daughters. their names are Fradel, Pessa,
Rivka, Alt'e, and Krusa.
He managed to give the girls a good education. They were
intelligent girls, able to read and write. But he was not able to give
them a adequate dowry. Consequently, most of his daughters married
widowers.
Although not much else is known about his life. It is known that he
was an honest, decent, intelligent, and well read man.
After his wife died, early in 1900, he was brought to live out the
last few years of his life with his daughter Alt'e, in Lublin. He is
reported to have reached the ripe old age of 104!
