Dr. Emmerich claimed to be a descendent of the great Jewish philosopher and advisor to Ferdinand and Isabella from Spain, Don Abarbanel de Vega. The family name is derived from the initials B.A.K.- Ben Abarbanel Kodaushim = son ofthe holy Abarbanel.
