{geni:about_me} When Jacob Beer was married to Fanni Wohlmuth in February 1836, he used his mother's maiden name of "Knopfelmacher". The marriage record, which indicates that he was age 25 and Fanni, age 18, was witnessed by hisfather, Joachim Beer.

Jacob lived in Holesov, Moravia (household #19) his entire life, and died there on 10 June 1897, "age 86" (but actually, age 85). His death notice, published in Vienna a one day after his death, names his children Wilhelm, Simon [also known as Samuel], Siegmund [also known as Salomon], Leni Zweigenthal, and Rosa Gratzer.
