{geni:about_me} While complete proof remains lacking, recent research suggests that Rebeka, second wife of Jonas Tauber, was the indeed the daughter of Michael and Guttl Zerkowitz of Mahr. Weisskirchen. Although census records indicate that Rebeka was born in 1788, she was likelier born about 1782 -- an unrecorded daughter of Michael born between Zibilia (1780) and David (1784).

Rebeka was married in early 1808 to widower Jonas Tauber (1739-1822). At the time of their marriage, he was 68 or 69, and she was 24 or 25. They went on to have two children. Jonas died in 1822, and Rebeka in 1866.
