in Shreveport, La. (Jewish ceremony) where my father, Max Winer had a pharmacy

at that time.

I was born in Tel-Aviv in on Sept.1,1934. The first of four children of Max and Betty

Winer. Max was from Grinnel, Iowa, and Betty Shlosberg was from Manchester,

England. They married in 1933.

I lived on 27 Tchlenov St. in a house my father built.

It had the Pharmacy on the first floor, our apartment on the second floor,

and Max's parents, Ozer and Rachel on the third floor.

My parents were very devout about Judaism.

I went to a religious girls school of the Mizrachi religious movement.

Then I went to a relious girls high school.

I went to a youth movement called "Noar ha-Mizrachi" (Mizrachi Youth).

I finished 3rd year of high school, and left for the U.S.A in June, 1950.

with Judy (Zelda) my sister,to join our father,Max in

Shreveport, La. Leaving out mother,Betty Shlosberg Winer, and our

sister, Gila Winer, and our brother, Shlomo, in Tel-Aviv.

My father was separated from my mother and siblings till 1955, when

he also brought them to Shreveport, La.

In Shreveport, La. I finished my last year of High School, and then had

one year in Centenary College (a Methodist college) till June 1952.

My father then sent my sister (Judy-Zelda) and me to Memphis, Tenn.

To go to the Memphis State College. (now known as Memphis State University.

I met Emanuel Feuchtwang, an Israeli student from Georgia Tech, Atlanta,Ga.

that first Summer I arrived at Memphis, I was 17, he was 22.

We married the next year, in a civil ceremony in Atlanta and a religious

ceremony in Shreveport.

In 1953, Emanuel finished his B.A in Electrical Engineering at Ga.Tech.

He chose Cal. Tech in Pasadena, California for his graduate studies.

We lived in Los Angeles for a year. I studied at UCLA and Los Angeles

city College where I graduated in Industrial Psychology in Jan. 1955.

Emanuel then received in Masters in EE and went for doctoral studies at

Stanford, Calif. in Sept. 1954. We lived in Palo Alto, Ca.till 1959.

Emanuel got his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. I worked as a

research assistant at the Ford Foundation: Center for Advanced Studies in the

behavioral Sciences.

Our first daughter, Orna, was born at the Stanford Medical Hospital on March 25,

1959.

We left,Dec. 1959 to go to Urbana, Illinois for Emanuel to become a Post-Doctoral,

Fellow at the University of Illinois, Department of Physics. 1960-1962.

Our second daughter, Daphna, was born Aug.16,1960.

I studied for the Masters degree in Social Psychology.

In Sept. 1963 Emanuel became an assistant Professor of Physics at

the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minn.

Our third child, Jonathan, was born there in May 13, 1965.

In Sept. 1965 we came to State College, Pennsylvania, where Emanuel

got a post as Associate Professor at the Physics Dept. of the Pennsylvania

State University. Our fourth child, Ilani, was born there in Oct.19,l970.

We stayed in State College, Pa. for the whole of Emanuel's Academic life,

till. 1995. I got a Masters degree in Counseling Education in 1979.

Emanuel was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1990 when

he was 60 years old; he lived till Aug.10, 2000, We were in Florida at that

time. I now live in Florida, Boynton Beach, in West Palm Beach county.
