After the Nazi occupation he managed to get to relatives in Italy (Merano) and eventually with the CVzech army, where he was a cook, to UK and back to Prague. After the war he worked as a local governmemt employee. till emigrating to Switzerland in 1968. His wife Helena (nee Moritz) and three children (Tanja, Zdenka, Thomas) all live in Zurich. .
