Notes for Morris (Móricz) Exl
{geni:occupation} Butcher
{geni:about_me} Moritz Exl was born in Halmesch, Hungary in 1849. He and his family lived in several places in Hungary (Trencin City, Celas, and Pruszkau), as well as Vienna, Austria (c.1883) before he emigrated to the U.S. in late 1890. His wife and children followed in early 1891, following the birth -- in Budapest -- of a son Robert in January 1891. They resided in Chicago, and are seen there in September 1891 when a daughter Fanny was born. A short time following Fanny's birth, around December 1891, the Exl family returned to Budapest, Hungary and remained there for the next several years.

On 31 March 1896, Moritz Exel, age 46, butcher from Hungary, arrived back in New York Harbor on the ship "Bonn". Even though he gave his final destination as New York, he soon moved westward to the city of Cleveland, Ohio. He wasre-joined by his wife and several of his younger children in December 1896.
