Benjamin Simons, general manager of the Standard Kid Mfg. Co., Boston, acted as toastmaster at a banquet of the employee of this concern held . . . February 15. The banquet was tendered to the president of the concern, Sol Agoos, for his liberal and generous policy toward the employes. The bonuses this year averaged more than 25 per cent of the salaries received. ... Carl Gewitsch rendered classical selections on the piano and on the violin."

He stated, "Icame to Austria [in May 1921] for the purpose of selling leather for various American concerns . . . I desire to continue the sale of leather in Austria for the next year or two . . . I find that I cannot do profitable business here. So far business has been very poor but I desire to try further in the hope that conditions will improve. If not, I shall return to the U.S." (see in MEDIA).
