Notes for Isaac (Isak) Knöpfelmacher
{geni:about_me} Isaac Knopfelmacher was born in Holesov about 1785, the son of Rabbi Salomon Knopfelmacher (1745-1810) and his first wife, Freidl (Kohn) Knopfelmacher (1747-1800). Isaac appears to have moved in and out of TrencinCity several times between the years 1814 and 1828: he was not there when the 1818, 1821, and 1828 censuses were taken, yet was residing in Trencin City when children were born to him and his wife in 1814, 1823, 1824, and 1829.From the 1830s until his death in 1847, he resided in Trencin City.

Both Isaac and his wife died within a short time of each other, 1847-1848. In 1848, three of their children are seen living together in Trencin City:

Trencin City, 1848:

Knopfelmacher, Nathan, age 24, b. Trencin; younger brother, Jakab, age 20, b. Trencin; older sister, Maria, age 25, b. Trencin

From the Knopflmacher Stammbaum:

Isak in Trencsen [listed as one of the sons of Salomon Knopflmacher]. His children:

1. Josef, married Freidl, daughter of Simon; met with an accident near Hausbau

2. Dobrisch, married Salomon Schner of Ung. Brod

3. Mirjam, married Moses* Hirsch Krausz of Bosacz [*error for Markus Hirsch Krausz]

4. Nachum, married Freidl of Dukova

5. Jakob, of Vienna 2, Obere Donaustrasse 3

[*Anna, wife of Moses Wolf Buchler, was omitted from the list, as were three children who likely died young: Freidl, Salomon, and Rachel.]
