Notes for Rudolf Löhner
{geni:about_me} Rudolf Löhner (Löwy) is listed in the Palestine Mandate Authority Police Force questionnaires as an illegal immigrant from German-held territories to Israel during and/or following World War II.
His cousin Louis Freudenthal sent Rudolf a copy of the letter which Hermann Löwy wrote to Hermann's sister Henrietta Beran, shortly before his death, recapping his early hard life in Bohemia.
Rudolf's letter, postmarked from Israel, reads:
"Dear Cousin - My heartfelt thanks for sending me the letter and allowing me to keep it.
Max Löhner is my oldest brother and David was my father. He (i.e. Hermann) wrote the letter one year before he died, so you can imagine that for me, the letter is a document.
Once more, many thanks - I remain your grateful cousin - Rudolf – Regards from family to family."
Hermann Löwe was my great-great-grandfather, and thus Rudolf was my great-grandmother Hermine's first cousin. -- Fred Barton
