Landscape in all its glory. I paint energetically in a fast and furious manner trying to capture the layers of colour and texture and the ever-changing light.

Crowds (people in places) also facinate me, especially the different reactions different people have to things around them, like the wonder of a small child passing a busker that everyone else passes without a second glance.

Artist's Bio:Mel Makinson

I have always drawn and painted and have sold art and high quality craftwork in Ireland UK and America.
Originally from the Wicklow Mountians, Ireland, I Moved to Oxford in 1989.
Finding it increasingly difficult to juggle a career in finance, with small children, in 1994 I returned to training and gained qualifications in carpentry, decorating and building, with a particular interest in paint technology and decorative techniques.
Acquired skills enabled me to indulge my passion for working on large scale pieces, accepting commissions for Murals and later Stage sets.
Now qualified as an adult tutor I often work with groups and individuals on varied art projects, applying practical experience which helps me use innovative solutions to ensure the completion of more complex tasks.
