{geni:about_me} Emil Zerkowitz had the Hebrew name of "Nathaniel Moyshe". He was named in honor of his two grandfathers, Nesanel Kohn-Zerkowitz (1783-1847) and Moritz Smetana. Emil was a Zionist, and emigrated from Vienna to Palestine in 1925. He and his family came to the United States in November 1952. Following his arrival, he shortened his surname to "Zerk".
