{geni:about_me} A Scientist at the Schneider Institutes, Deborah Gurewich’s work focuses on organizational behavior. She has studied the hospital sector and the health care safety-net with a particular interest in community healthcenters.

Dr. Gurewich has also collaborated with The Access Project on several projects examining the determinants of medical debt and its effect on health-seeking behavior and quality of life. Her research draws on case study methodology,community-based participatory research models, and large-scale survey design. Dr. Gurewich’s findings have appeared in The Milbank Quarterly and the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved.

In addition to her Ph.D. in Social Policy from the Heller School, Dr. Gurewich has a Master’s in Urban Planning from George Washington University.
