As long as you've done all this, I'll bore(?) you with the details of when

Martha and I went to Trebitsch/Trebice, Czech Republic, about 2-3 years ago.

One day in Prague we didn't have a plan, but did have a rental car, so I

said why don't we try to find Trebitsch. Two hours later we were there, not

knowing what to look for. We stroll around town and I see a sign with a

Jewish star, pointing down a street. We go there and find the museum of the

Jewish community of Trebitsch and talk to the non-Jewish person there, who

tells us the last Jews were driven out of Trebitsch by the Russians, around

1946, and sent to Prague, where it was supposed the Russians could keep an

eye on them. The synagogue was beautifully maintained as a memorial and art

gallery, and the Jewish cemetery was in excellent condition. There are no

Jews in Tebice now. There is nothing special about Trebice, but it may have

been different during the monarchy.
