Born in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of the late Isiah and Zelda Israelski Troy. He was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1932 and owned and operated Troy Tire, Wilkes-Barre, prior to his retirement. Mr. Troy was very activecommunity causes and politics. He was a member of the Jewish Community Center, was an Eternal Light member of Temple Israel and served as Ritual Director for more than 20 years. Saul was an avid swimmer and skier.
Saul was preceded in death by his wife, the former Shirley Shulman, son, Joseph Troy and brother, Wilber. Shirley and Saul's 67 years together, showed us all how wonderful a marriage can be.
Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Robert and Virginia Troy, Roma, GA, daughter in law, Brig Troy, Los Angeles, CA, 3 grandchildren, Austin and Adam Troy, Darcy Pollack, 3 great grandchildren, Christopher and Sophie Dora Pollack, Theodore David Troy, brother, Leo, New Jersey, sister in law, Jane Troy, Kingston, nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held on Sunday at 12:00 noon at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre with Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham officiating. Interment will be in the Pittston Cemetery, Pittston.
Shiva will be observed locally at the Ramada Inn, Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, on Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Israel or the charity of the donor's choice.
