Notes for Michael Harry Angerman
{geni:occupation} driver; merchant, Vienna Baking
{geni:about_me} On his Petition for Naturalization, Michael Harry Angerman's name was typed as MICHALY Angerman. He signed it the same way. Michaly...Michael Harry...? He came to McKeesport via Havre, France "on or about" May1, 1902. On the petition, he listed five children and their birth dates and places: Esther and the next child were born in Hungary in 1901 and 1902, respectively. I refer to "the next child" as that because we know it was Herman. However, on this form, the child is listed as "Annie;" likewise, Leah is listed as Lillie. I wonder if this is how his "accent" was interpreted by the person who was typing this information.

There is another mystery. I recall my father, "Bam" (Adolph) once mentioned he had a baby brother named Benjy...who died from lead poisoning from licking the paint on the walls. So far, no records of this child. He does not appear on the 1910 or 1920 census...am cheching old synaogue records... Anyone know of this?

I am also interested in Michael Harry's family. Parents? Brothers or Sisters? (Granddaughter Judith Angerman Allen)

John Kessel had his place of birth listed as Nagy Rokotz, Hungary as found on his WWII draft registration card. We believe this refers to a place found on Wikipedia as Velykyi Rakovets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velykyi_Rakovets) and is part of Irshava, Zakarpattya, Ukraine and also found on JewishGen as Velikiy Rakovets, Ukraine (http://data.jewishgen.org/wconnect/wc.dll?jg~jgsys~community~-1057753) so I will set his place of birth to this in his profile
