Thereafter lived London, New York and Washington supported by her step son Karl Herzfeld, an academically accomplished Viennese and later American scientist who refused to join the 'Manhatten' project on ethical grounds when told that Germany could not develop the atomic bomb in the foreseeable future.

Returned London from New York 1958 on Nieuw Amsterdam to Southampton accompanied by wife of son in law, Regina Herzfeld
