Notes for Yitzchak Plot
{geni:about_me} Hi Eytan

Attached is a pdf of the 1908 manifest for your grandfather Isaac/Itzchak Plot. He sailed on the SS Brandenburg in January from Bremen [age given was 25] and arrived in Baltimore, date shown here is February 7. If you enlarge thepdf and look at line 17 [page one], you will be able to read across to see that his relative named was his wife Chaia, your grandmother in Kamin, and looking at the same line 17 on page 2, his destination is listed as his father-in-law Steinberg on Corning St. in Charleston SC. I'm also attaching both pages [the manifest spread across two pages of a register] as separate images in the event you would rather view them as a jpg file.

I read that the SS Brandenburg was built in 1901 by the Bremer Vulcan Company. Its tonnage was 7532; its dimensions 429' x 54'. After WWI it was renamed the Hecuba. It was scrapped in Italy in December 1924. Picture of the ship isalso attached.

Take care,

Nancy
