Company profile
Kronospan Jihlava, a member of the international Kronospan group, is the biggest and the latest manufacturer in broadcast wood based products in the Czech Republic. Nowadays the plant in Jihlava produces raw chipboards which are further processed to melamine faced chipboards and worktops. In 2005 we started production of OSB. Then from our sister companies we can offer other wood based products to our customers. These ones include melamine faced MDF, HDF,veneered boards and wide range of other products not only for furniture manufacturers.
Our products made particularly from domestic raw materials are of the highest quality and are exported to the entire Europe. They provide a perfect base for furniture manufacturers´competitiveness. Kronospan plays an important part in development and holds up employment rate in the Jihlava region. Wood raw material is taken from more than 600 suppliers across the Czech Republic. The plant significantly participates in recycling of wood waste. Goods exportsand wood raw material import creates hundreds of job opportunities as the same as permanent investments,in the range of logging, wood supply, products logistics and continuous investments, e.g. new hall construction, investmentsin new technologies)..
Kronospan plant in Jihlava reffers to the tradition of wood manufacture in Jihlava. This tradition goes back to 1883 when Julius Schindler founded a saw-mill on the same place of now existing company. In 1957 a manufacture of particle boards started here and it was one of the first manufacturers of this material in Europe. In 1978 the biggest chipboard manufacture´s assembly line in Czechoslovakia was established in Jihlava. This production was forming thegenesis of the company by 1994 when Kronospan group began to cooperate with former wood manufacturing company in Jihlava. From that moment on Kronospan Jihlava´s plant has been keeping successful development.
