In Petersburg, Murray and Boots raised two children, Roger Unger of Indianapolis, and Lisa Unger Sandman of Raleigh, N.C. Murray was an avid golfer until the age of 80, a hole-in-one three times, swimmer, duplicate bridge player, devoted fan of his alma mater and follower of current events, especially the financial markets.

Committed to his community, Murray served two terms as president of the Petersburg Junior Chamber of Commerce and many years on the board of trustees of congregation brith achim. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Murray will be remembered for his sharp mind and easy disposition, but mostly for being a gentleman in the finest and truest sense; always respectful, kind with his words and genuinely interested in the lives of his family and many friends.
