I have used the MACSE website and found several records. Jack will burn a CD with the folders
and we will post them to you. Some information I believe you already have.

In the meantime, Anna Berend, born 31 July 1900, daughter of Lipot Weitzner and Bienenfeld Iren married Sandor Roth born 25 May 1894 on 27th May 1920. Name change to Berend on the 11th of May 1936. On 16th of May 1944 changed religion to Evang.

Sister Sarolta born 31 March 1903, Married Henrik Fenyves born 12 Feb 1893 on 5th Nov 1922. (Father of groom had changed surname from Freund. Sarolta changed to Evang on 16 May 1944, Henrik changed 17 June 1944. ( Witness to wedding Sandor Roth)

Sister Karolina born 24 Oct 1905 was already divorced when she married Karoly Brandl born 10 Oct 1886 who was also a divorcee, on 24 Feb 1929. Both changed to Evang in 1944.

3. Lipot born 10 May 1871. Can't find first marriage but 3 children above. Was widower when married Wagner Ilonaborn 19 Sep 1897 daughter of Jonas and Regl Stark on 21 Jan 1917.
4. Matild born 11 Oct 1873 ( father's first name Mano not Emil - maybe inaccurate record) married Deutsch Jozsefborn 1 Sep 1872 son of Sandor and Ginsberger Borbala on 8 Dec 1895.

I have found a Waitzner Samuel son of Markus and Deutsch Fanni born 28 Sep 1871 divorcee married Rozalia Schwarz born 12 Jan 1865 - widow- daughter of Samuel and Fleischmann Borbala on 24 Dec 1911. Witness to this wedding was Jakab Schoenberg!

Weitzner Endre Adolf born 29 Jul 1866 son of Jozsef and Back Fanni married Gerzabek Izabella daughter of Vilmos and Lauter Maria on 12 Aug 1896. Of note is surname change to Vadasz on 26 Aug 1898. First name change to Endre Sandorand to Roman Catholic on 14 Aug 1913.

I found the daughter of Adele Waitzner born 1870 and married to Adolf Strausz. This surname was entered into data base as Krausz. Aranka born 12 Oct 1892 married Pick Hugo born 16 Nov 1884 (R.C.) son of Jozsef and Horvath Ceciliaon 20 April 1913. Surname waschanged to Petry before his death at 61 on 13 April 1945.

I have included a few other Waitzner/Weitzner on CD.

Using this database I have found sometimes the writing was so pale or difficult that there may be name mistakes. I have noted that when one goes live on the site and presses Kapcsolat to connect with the page directly in the civilrecords sometimes the records show variations on the names either because nicknames or shortenings were used ( eg above I believe Mano is Emil) or there are spelling mistakes by the recorder.

Unfortunately this database also only covers Budapest at present and not all district records are done as yet. Also due to privacy issues with the government as occurs with the Family Search records, there are only births more than 100 years, marriages more than 60 years and deaths more than 30 years. Eventually if we live long enough we may fill in the gaps.

In last year's phone book from Budapest I couldn't find any Petry, Weitzner, Waitzner. There are several Berend and Strausz listed. One of the Berend's lives a few blocks from where Anna sent her letter. The two addresses are on opposite "sides" of the Dohany u. Synagogue.
