{geni:about_me} Josephine H. Young, 93, former resident of Fayetteville, NY, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at a long-term nursing facility in Narvon, Pennsylvania.
She was a proud member of the downtown business community and worked for over 30 years along side her husband, Marvin H. Young, in their business, "Sam Young Shoe Store".
They developed such shoe related innovations as the Traveling Shoemobile which serviced many industrial businesses in the Central New York area.
Josephine enjoyed many years traveling and fishing with her husband, sharing holiday traditions, celebrating special occasions, and entertaining family, and friends with her wonderful cooking. She was a longtime member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. Her love, laughter and endless support will always remain cherished memories for her family.
She was predeceased by her mother, Rose Cohen of Syracuse; brother, Daniel Weisberger; sister, S. Reva Smulowitz; and her beloved husband, Marvin Young.
Survived by her daughter, Ann (Mark) Grobosky of Montana; her loving granddaughters, Ellen (Michael) Marble of Pennsylvania, Karen Yaffie of Pennsylvania, Susan Johnson of New Hampshire, and Sheryl Yaffie of Florida; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and her brothers-in-law, Larry (Rosalie) Young of Syracuse and Bernard Young of Arizona.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted at noon, Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Adath Yeshurun Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in Josephine's name may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun, 450 Kimber Rd., Syracuse, NY 13224.
