{geni:about_me} I was born in Colorado on December 9, 1961, to an unwed 18 year old girl, Phyllis Ricky Kellner. She was unable to keep me, and gave me up for adoption. I had the name Janet Lee Keller at birth; she had changed myname and her name on the certificate to Keller. I was adopted at 2 weeks by Joan and Gene Plaut, and given the name Jessica Beth Plaut. When I traveled with them to Philadelphia during my first year, I was named Yafa Beyla in a synagogue by a rabbi. We lived in Denver for 3 years, during which time my sister was adopted. At the age of 3, we moved to Spring Valley, New York, where we lived for 7 years before moving to California, during that time, around my5th birthday, we visiited California, and on that visit, my brother Michael was adopted.
After settling in California, we stayed put, so my parents could become teachers at the Sacramento Waldorf School. I have remained in California for nearly 40 years!

I found my birthmother's family in 2010. I was the first child of Phyllis Ricky Kellner, z'tl.
Given the name Janet Lee Keller at birth, I was given up for adoption. My family is from the Eastern seacoast of the United States, and they made Aliya in the late 60's. I have 4 half siblings, 2 aunts, and an uncle, and an 87 year old grandmother, and 40+ cousins, and several nieces and nephews. I am still searching for my birth father, but no one knows who he is/was.
The Kellner clan hails from Racianz, Plonsk Province in Poland, as well as from other parts of the Ukraine, Belarus and Romania. I am uncovering information on a pretty regular basis...there just isn't enough time to chart it allhere.
I have 3 sons; two are fully grown, in their early 20's, and I have a little boy who will be 4 in less than 2 months. I am married, and just got my degree in Health Information Technology. Nearly 4 years ago, I was hit and almostkilled by a drunk driver-it has taken me a long time to get my life back-I have done it one day at a time, and I am still getting better-some days are better than others!
