Notes for KYUNG BO PAIK
{geni:about_me} One of his favorite hymns, "Step by Step / 한걸음 한걸음" by Albert Benjamin Simpson (1843-1919), probably best describes his faith/views on life:

Before/during WWII, he left Sinui-ju, north Korean border city, w/ his family to settle in Seoul. By ~1945, he was already one of the founding mbrs of YoungNak Presby Church, Seoul.

He was well versed in the Old Testment (OT), esp His promise to multiply descendents like the stars...
In ~1964, his eldest son, SoungJook, died, and he was close to a retirement age. Within few yrs, he also began to suffer from some skin disease, shedding dry skins like fish scales. As a result, he was increasingly becoming isolated like an "outcast" from families and other close friend/associates... During this time, some began to ask if his faith was being tested like Job in the OT.
By early 1970s, however, he recovered and there was no sign of disease and other ailments. He emigrated to USA and began to enjoy retirement w/ his wife, KooHan, in Los Angeles. In 1973, he became one of the founding members ofa new satellite YoungNak Church in Los Angeles.

In 1974, his 4th son, SoungWook Wally, also died. His faith, however, never wavered. Church was his life; he continued to attend church until his death in ~1982.
Pastor Emeritus, REV Dr Kyung-Jik Han (1902-2000), YoungNak Church, Seoul, was also the minister to Paik's family for many decades... received Templeton Prize, England in 1992.
